Malice looked around seeing distant lanterns. He worried as to why Jaeger hadn’t returned home but he figured that since the boy was a human that he was no doubt safe, nobody would suspect someone like that would be connected to a demon like himself. The lights that usually furnished the cave were buried with the other possessions he didn’t wish to be found. Ears against his neck, stood stiff while a vigilant expression was scrawled across his face.
He could see the lanterns approach, and the glint of the silver muskets. His body flattened to the ground to make himself less visible as he crept into a direction none of the lights was heading. He could head glass shattering. The vials of holy water shattered in attempts to purify his unholy grounds. All he could do was grimace from afar hoping they wouldn’t come to close to his home. He buried their possessions deep enough for it not to be apparent someone had lived there, but if people were to find his things and sense that Jaeger was staying with him he dreaded to think what they’d do to him.
He hid the plants within a thicket of plants similar to Jaeger’s tastes, just so if his things were to be ruined by the holy men’s wrath at least the plants were safe, and Jaeger wouldn’t have any reason to fret.
He proceeded into the darkest parts of the woods seeing a glint before him in the distance, no doubt another priest. His eyes narrowed so the bright yellows wouldn’t be visible to whoever it was. Slowly he crept towards the town vigilant of all the beings around him. Careful not to make a sound. Once he felt he was far enough he began his search in the town.
Wearing a hat and a blind-man’s glasses to blend in as much as he could, tapping a pointless cane as he walked. He went door to door asking where he was, giving the same story all the while, that he had become separated from his friend during the holy-search. He proceeded to ask late into the night, the mood had grown large and still no traces of Jaeger, he had a strong sense that he was staying in the church, but knew he could not approach due to it being holy grounds. He sat on a bench holding his head wondering what he should do….
